SAVYA Kumar AGARWAL
Confidence is a Scam: Rewriting the Path to Achievement
In this talk, Savya Agarwal argues that confidence is not a prerequisite for success. He believes the old adage that a teen must "believe in themselves" and exhibit confidence is misleading. On the contrary, many people who accomplish great things are filled with self-doubt and insecurity, like Maya Angelou, who often felt like a fraud and feared being "found out". What sets them apart isn’t their confidence—it’s their courage to act despite these feelings. In this talk, Savya posits that courage, rather than confidence, is the key to personal and professional growth. By acting despite our doubts, we build resilience and gain the practice necessary to be confident in ourselves and what we do. Savya is student at the Harker School.
